His goal is to develop a strong linkage among academia, research and extension. He has worked on a collaboration with industry and research at national and international levels.In addition to his responsibilities as Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, he has the responsibility of Director external linkages and Chairman Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.The Dean FAES has a national and international experience in scientific research,invited presentations, advisory services, active collaborations.He has worked extensively with the World Bank/UNDP, FAO, Pak.-UK collaborative research, ACIAR, Australia, USAID -PEEP and Department of Agriculture – Government of Punjab Pakistan, to identify and research on the critical agriculture issues. He has active collaborations with Kyungpook National University, Taegu, South Korea, University of Sussex, UK and Queensland Government, Department of Primary industries and fisheries, Australia. Before his appointment in MNSUAM, Professor. Dr. Shafqat Saeed was Director BZU Bahadur Campus Layyah Pakistan, Principal College of Agriculture, BZU Bahadur Campus Layyah Pakistan, Associate Professor in Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Pakistan, carrying significant interdisciplinary research in Entomology and other domains of Agriculture. He has been serving as an honorary member and country representative in ECO Science Foundation member from Pakistan and member of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).His research focused on the insect pollinators conservation and ecology. He also extensively worked on the Apis and non Apis pollinators fauna of Pakistan. He also worked towards managing the cotton mealy bug issue. His significant work in mango and cotton has been acknowledged at the global level. He has also organised national conferences and workshops to highlight key issues in the agriculture.He has completed 08 International and 14 National research projects as a P.I and Co P.I. from different national and international organisations. He participated in many national and international conferences, with more than 120 original research contributions in peer-reviewed journals. He has 1195 citations with a score of 18 h-index and with i10 index 33. He has supervised 10 PhD students as a doctoral supervisor. He also contributed as country representative in a group of 120 countries in IPBES Assessment report on Pollinators, pollination and food production and a policy document for policymakers. He also wrote a chapter on Insect Pests in the Encyclopedia of “The Mango” published by Royal Court of Sultanate of Oman in 2016.He got several awards including Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Gold Medal Award in recognition of research work in Entomology by Zoological Society of Pakistan. Recently, he has been awarded Quaid e Azam Gold Medal in 2018 for his services in Agriculture sector of Pakistan.Professor Dr. Shafqat Saeed was born and raised in DG Khan, Pakistan. He completed
his undergraduate from PMAS-AAUR, Pakistan, his masters from University of Agriculture Faisalabad Pakistan, PhD from Kyungpook National University, Taegu, South Korea and Post-Doc from Institute of Industrial Entomology, Yechon, South Korea.
