Establishment of Huawei ICT Academy at MNSUAM

The Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and Huawei Technologies offered to expand the ICT Academy, previously known Huawei Authorized IT & Network Academy (HAINA) to universities in Pakistan under which Huawei Information & Communication technology (ICT) Academies would be established at the selected higher education institutes across Pakistan.
Dr. Ayesha Hakim (Assistant Professor), Department of Computer Science at MNS-University of Agriculture, Multan competed with other well-known universities in Pakistan and won the project after passing through two critical phases of evaluation.

Objectives of ICT Academy:
The preliminary objectives of the ICT Academy are to

  • produce trained workforce to build a better ICT talent eco-system in the region.
  • conduct world recognized certified trainings/workshops to students and professionals on the state-of-the-art Information & Communication technologies.
  • strengthen and produce highly competent IT professionals to meet future needs of industry including agriculture.
  • facilitate close interaction between academia and industry in the field of ICT both within Pakistan and abroad.

The formal MOU has been signed between MNS University of Agriculture, Multan and Huawei Technologies (Pakistan) Pvt. Ltd. on 25 th of August, 2020. Both organizations agreed to work together to develop a cooperative working relationship through Huawei certified training programs and certifications.
Dr. Ayesha Hakim, is authorized POC for the future communication with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Huawei from the university. Two faculty members of Computer Science department, Dr. Aamir Hussain and Mr. Israr Hussain, attended training from Huawei and has successfully completed the session of “Train the Trainer”. After passing the exam, they got the rank of Huawei Certified Academy Instructors (HCAI) at university. The ICT Academy will announce admission of its first batch early next year after official inauguration ceremony. It is expected to be an important initiative towards skill development of workforce and economic development of the entire region to meet the future demand in the field of ICT.
