Introduction

Established in 2015, the Department of Horticulture at MNS-University of Agriculture, Multan, is committed to the advancement of horticultural science and technology through quality education, cutting-edge research, and community outreach. Horticulture—the science and art of cultivating fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, and landscape—is a cornerstone of sustainable agriculture and environmental enhancement, contributing significantly to food security, economic development, and quality of life.

The department offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Our B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program with a major in Horticulture covers core subjects such as plant propagation, nursery management, canopy and floor management, production technologies, landscape design, and turf management.

At the postgraduate level (M.Sc. Hons. Agriculture – Horticulture), the curriculum is centered around four main disciplines:

Pomology (Fruit Science) Olericulture (Vegetable Science) Ornamental Horticulture Postharvest Science

Our faculty comprises dedicated professionals, including one professor, two associate professors, three assistant professors, and three lecturers, all actively involved in teaching, research, and extension activities. With numerous industry-oriented R&D projects and impactful publications in national and international journals, the department continues to lead in innovation and knowledge dissemination.
