Introduction

The Department of Horticulture, MNS-University of Agriculture, Multan was established in 2015. Horticulture is the science and art of cultivating plants, and it plays a vital role in improving the quality of life for people and the environment. Our Horticulture Department is dedicated to advancing knowledge and technology in the field of horticulture and providing hands-on learning experiences to our students.

Our department offers a diverse range of courses, including plant science, plant propagation, nursery management, canopy and floor management, production practices, landscape design, and turf management, among others. Presently, the department is awfully engaged in conducting professional degree courses of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture with a major subject of Horticulture. For M.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture (Horticulture), department deals with four main disciplines of pomology (fruits), olericulture (vegetables), ornamentals (floriculture & landscaping) and Postharvest.

Our faculty members are highly experienced and accomplished professionals with expertise in various areas of horticulture including olericulture, pomology, postharvest, ornamental and landscaping. At present, the Department consists of one professor, two associate professors, three assistant professors, and three lecturers having industry-oriented R & D projects with well-impacted publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Furthermore, they are dedicated to providing our students with a well-rounded education that includes both theoretical and practical learning opportunities.

The Horticulture Department at our University also conducts research on various aspects of plant science and horticulture. Our research focuses on developing new and innovative techniques to improve plant growth, productivity, and sustainability.

In addition to academic programs and research, our department also provides outreach services to the community. We collaborate with local farmers, gardeners, and horticulturists (public and private sectors) to promote the benefits of horticulture and provide them with the latest knowledge and technology in the field.
